On 13 October 2021, the Kyrgyz Republic submitted an Assistance Request at the 988th meeting of the FSC in support in the following areas:
The Programme Office supports Kyrgyzstan in the implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540 on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. It also assists the government in the effective management of SALW and stockpiles of conventional ammunition, in improving capacities of relevant agencies to address threats posed by explosives as well as promoting the implementation of OSCE commitments related to arms control and confidence- and security-building measures.

Physical Security and Stockpile Management
Following activities were sucessfully implemented in the area of SALW and SCA control by the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek:
Improvement of the Kyrgyz Republic’s normative framework on the management of small arms and light weapons (SALW) and conventional ammunition (CA).
Support to the disposal significant amount of expired SALW and CA.
Provision of equipment for the destruction of SALW and CA.
In response to an Assistance Request by Kyrgyzstan submitted in 2013, work began in 2019 under project #110542 “Regional Programme on Liquid Rocket Fuel Components Disposal (ExB) Phase 2” to remove and dispose of rocket fuel components in Armenia and Kyrgyzstan in order to address threats to human security and the environment. It is estimated that, by 2022, overall stockpiles of 180 tonnes of the rocket fuel components mélange and samin in Kyrgyzstan and 160 tons.
